Heineken lets fans create the line-up


At the Heineken Open Source Stage, the fans decide on the line up. Via Facebook, people can suggest, and like other suggestions, in order to create the line up. Heineken will make the final decision between the suggestions with the most votes and invite the artists.

The Heineken Open Source Stage takes place at Flow Festival, which is sponsored by Heineken and will be held in Helsinki from August 12 to 14. Flow Festival is a music and urban culture festival held every August in Suvilahti, Helsinki and represents a wide variety of the most interesting Finnish and foreign artists from indie rock to soul, from jazz and world music to the freshest club sounds. Visitors can vote online on this website which is available only in Finnish, and therefore limited to those of you who are not afraid of words like “huipputekniikalla” or “artistikiinnityksiä”. Finnish DJ Fiskars will be a moderator and can push some acts in the discussion forum, so that more people can comment on them. The acts with the most votes (i.e. the most Facebook likes) will constitute the line up for the Heineken Open Source Stage. The final program will be published in the first days of August.

Heineken’s music offering is not the only one with a close connection to Facebook, Bacardi proposes something similar. On the Barcardi Facebook page, fans can like different proposals from categories like “drinks”, “music”, “food” or “entertainment”. Bacardi will bring those “likes” “alive” at two festivals in June under the motto “Like It Live, Like It Together”.
